3 Wedding Photography Styles With Descriptions for Couples To Understand
3 Wedding Photography Styles With Descriptions for Couples To Understand There are basically three major wedding photography styles that are common within the wedding industry. However, in today's world, it's easy for couples to get confused because sometimes terminology is often used interchangeably and (not intentionally) sometimes wedding professionals forget that couples don't always know those terms. As a couple you're probably thinking that all wedding photographY is the same in terms of style, but the truth is that there are different wedding photography styles. There are also different elements that can differentiate the styles I'm discussing which is where the terms "light&airy", "dark&moody", "double-exposure", and more come into play. After a few years of shooting weddings and being a part of a couples journey to becoming officially married, one of the most common statements made by couples is, "I get overwhelmed looking at these different photographers and I don't know the difference between a documentary-style photographer and a fine-art wedding photographer..." Does that sound familiar? For couples, choosing a wedding photographer that shoots in a style fit for that couple (what the couple likes) can be very confusing--at the end of the day it's important for couples to at the very least have some basic understanding of the different types of wedding photography styles that are out there to reduce this confusion and avoid as much overwhelm as possible.
