Elegant Wedding at Regent Tampa Bay

About Their Wedding: We are going for an elegant theme. Our wedding colors are blush, rose, gold, grey, and ivory. My dress is designed by Oleg Cassini. I went shopping for my dress with my mom. It was an honor and a blessing to have her by my side during this amazing experience. I said "yes" to my wedding dress the first day of dress shopping. My shoes are designed by Badgley Mischka. Vera Wang grey suit with ivory accents to complement the bride. We enjoyed learning more about color schemes, current fashion trends, and eventually choosing a style that best fit our wedding style.

Their Love Story:

Our first date was a dinner and a movie night. Til this day, that is our go-to type of date night. DeJuan and I met on Twitter in 2011. At the time, I was attending the University of Florida in Gainesville, his hometown, and he was attending Florida A&M University in Tallahassee. After talking via text and flirting on Twitter, we met in person a few weeks later when he returned to Gainesville to visit family and friends. Through long distance communication, consistency, and frequently driving two hours to see each other, we eventually confessed our love for one another. "It started with a DM [direct message]" is how we often refer to our love story lol. We Found Love by Rihanna was and still is our theme song. I mean, back then, no one actually expected to find love on Twitter lol; but we did!

The Proposal:

In February 2017, we made the ultimate decision to start planning for a wedding. We talked about marriage many times before, so it was expected. 5 years of dating had past, so it was time to take our relationship to the next level. We were excited and anxious to finally act on what we had been striving for. It wasn't until August 2017 that we made a public announcement to our friends and family via Facebook, with the help of our engagement photos, that we were planning to join each other in holy matrimony. The overflow of love and excitement everyone expressed was amazing and a feeling we will never forget.
