Engagement sessions hold a lot of value because they are (most of the time) the first time that you will interact with a professional photographer for your wedding journey - outside of family yearly photos (which I also shoot). This is why I also tell my couples not to sacrifice their engagement session (by negotiating to remove it from their collection) because it really serves a vital point in the relationship you have with your photographer. So, the secret is out! You found the love of your life, you're engaged, and now you're ready for your wedding (marriage)! It's now time for you to have an engagement session. TIPS ON WHAT TO WEAR FOR YOUR ENGAGEMENT SESSION
Are you freaking out because you don't know what to wear to your Engagement Session, and while Pinterest is a great resource, it seems like too much to really narrow down what to do? No worries because I'm here to help.
HERE'S WHY YOU SHOULD NOT SKIP AN ENGAGEMENT SESSION:
Choosing a photographer for your wedding is very important. Here's why that photographer should also be used for your Engagement Session.
1. "Getting to know YOU... "Did you sing reading that? Haha, I did typing it. The benefit of having yourEngagement Photos also taken by your wedding photographer is that they've taken some time to get to know you before your special day. This means they know your body language, how the couple interacts with each other, and last but not least the couple's limitations (if any).
2. "HOW DOES IT FEEL..."
This is also a great opportunity for you (the couple/client) to get to know the photographer. When I'm on location I love to interact with the couple, but I also like to keep it natural; natural is a big thing for me. I don't want my couples to feel robotic. I don't want to talk them to death throughout the session. Candid moments make for some great moments indeed.
3. NO LONGER STRANGERS
On your wedding day nervousness and sometimes anxiety automatically take over. What better way to remain relaxed and enjoy the moment, than to have a photographer that you already know and have shot with before; to capture your special day.You don't have to worry about not understanding their direction or even their tone of voice when telling you to pose for a shot. You already trust them!
Are you freaking out because you don't know what to wear to your Engagement Session, and while Pinterest is a great resource, it seems like too much to really narrow down what to do? No worries because I'm here to help.
Remember, in addition to getting to know your photographer, learning prompts from each other that help you (during your E-Session and on your wedding day), the goal of an Engagement session is to connect with your photographer. So, now that you've read that entire list, which location is your favorite?
